My name is Francisco Andrade, and I live in Dallas, Texas where I attended Woodrow Wilson as a member of its IB, International Baccalaureate, program. I am bilingual as I am fluent in both English and Spanish. When I am not in school, studying, or on the court practicing, dedicate my free time to serving my community through volunteer work with numerous organizations.
I previously attended Benjamin Franklin Middle School where I was one of the three students selected to give the academic announcements along with leading the pledge of allegiance, the Texas pledge, and the moment of reflection. I was later elected as the student council president in my eighth-grade year. As president, I aimed to provide a friendly and engaging learning environment where everyone would feel comfortable and strive to learn. I also engaged in a variety of school functions from taking pictures for the yearbook to welcoming incoming students and their parents on the first day of school.
Along with being an active member of the BFMS community, I strove for academic excellence, culminating in my Master's certification in Algebra 1 STAAR test in my eighth-grade year. I obtained membership in the National Junior Honor Society due to my academic achievements along with numerous accolades for my active role in the community including the leadership award and honor roll. I also received “The Falcon Pride Award” in my eighth-grade year which is awarded to the student who best embodies IB attributes and is voted on by the teachers.
Now a junior in high school, I strive to keep up the academic excellence I obtained in middle school, averaging an “A” in my IB and honors classes this year while furthering my athletic career. I am a student council member at my school and help from pep-rallies, parades, homecoming, and other school activities. While Woodrow lacks a boy’s volleyball team, I still strive to be involved with volleyball, leading to me becoming the girl’s varsity volleyball team manager. I assisted the coaches in running practices, filming games, and served as a practice player for the varsity squad. I play club volleyball for Dallas Starlings in addition to the daily reps I receive during the varsity practices at school, and I am looking forward to improving my all-around game this season. I have worked at Chick-fil-A where I have gained a great work ethic and have learned how to manage tasks very diligently. As the leader of operating drive-through services including taking orders, handling payment info, and food delivery in a prompt but friendly manner it has taught me to think on my feet while still being able to create an enjoyable environment to work in. We valued effort over talent and always strived to go above and beyond for the extra second-mile service. As well as worked at Starbucks where I have mastered POS, point-of-service, and systems to handle payments ranging from $3,000 to $5,000 per shift. As well as providing exceptional customer service that results in being awarded partner of the month. While still upholding all local COVID-19 safety protocols including increased sanitation and enforcing mask policy. As a partner, I also maintain a clean, organized inventory and curated displays of rotating seasonal merchandise and coffee beans.
