My name is Mitchell Hester. I became interested in volleyball when my Mom introduced me to it at 13 years old. I was excited to start the sport and wanted to be the best in the gym. I think about two years after starting, I made the decision to continue playing in college. I thought it would be a great idea to play in college because I found a sport I enjoy. I became better at the sport year after year and grew taller than my teammates.
I have been invited to attend USA Volleyball High Performance for the last three summers. When I was 14, I was invited to the A3 training in the Chicago area. At age 15, I advanced to A2 (Alt A1) in Colorado Springs and also played for the Texoma Region team which placed 2nd in the HP Championship Tournament in the Region level in Tulsa. This last summer I was invited to return to the A2 (Alt A1) High Performance training in Raleigh and our North Texas Region pulled together an all-star team for the first time and participated in the HP Championship in Ft. Lauderdale.
Outside of volleyball I am a section leader for the trombones in my High School marching band. Marching band has taught me time management and discipline that I apply to volleyball. At home, I like to relax, play video games online with my friends, and hang with my two dogs.
I live with my parents and sisters. My family fully supports me in pursuing my passion for volleyball. Their support and motivation keep me going when I am having a rough day or match.
Thank you for your time
