Connor Spencer '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Connor Spencer. I am pursuing volleyball at the collegiate level because I simply love the game. I have played for the last 5 years and I want to continue to play throughout college. The game has taught me to work hard, be disciplined and have confidence in my abilities. It has also taught me to acknowledge my shortcomings, and to be coachable, so that I am always working on the goal of becoming better than I was yesterday! Through the game, I have learned that winning requires synergy on the court, and that talent alone, doesn’t always win games. It has taught me how to deal with adversity and come out better for it, and it has given me the opportunity to learn to effectively lead, both on and off the court.

I was introduced to volleyball by two of my older sisters, who both played at the collegiate level (DI & DII). I have lived through their experiences and witnessed how hard work and commitment result in an experience that will last a lifetime. I look forward to carrying on the family tradition and writing my own collegiate volleyball chapter.

Academically, I also bring a strong game! I am in the STEM program at Grassfield High School in Chesapeake, VA and plan to pursue studies in the field of computer science/programming. Academics are a top priority and will be a focus for me in addition to the game during my college experience.
