Zachary Heyward '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Zachary Heyward.  I am a Junior graduating in 2021 from South County High school.  I am a starting outside hitter for my club volleyball team (Monument VBC).  This current season will be my second season playing volleyball, but due to my rapid progression and coach-ability, I have earned the spot of team captain.  I am 6'0 (w/court shoes) and have an approach vertical of 40 inches.  I am a multi-sport athlete and work very hard to try to reach my max potential, which I believe is limitless.

As school comes first, I have taken Honors classes since the 7th grade.  Prior to middle school I was placed in advanced academic programs.  I believe that I would be a great candidate for your team because of the positive impact I have on those around me.  I am a solid all around player, with experience playing middle blocker, opposite and outside.  As an outside I play all six rotations.  On and off of the court I push myself and those around me to be the best that we can be.  I am a very driven and hard working individual  who strives to be a student of everything I pursue.  I set goals for myself that others tell me are not achievable, and with hard work, passion and the right guidance, anything is possible.  

I believe what sets me apart from other recruits is that I am extremely coach-able.  I use the information given to perfect my game and increase my IQ of the game as a whole.  During my sophomore year, I could not hit the ball in the court.  With repetition, hard work on and off the court, and great coaches who believed in me, I am now a better player than I ever imagined I would be at only two seasons.  I study the sport, and know that playing at the collegiate level is my goal, therefore, I have been doing my level best to reach that goal.

I aspire to be an impact player and fill an immediate need to whatever team I am honored to serve.
