Jeremy Wimmer '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jeremy Wimmer, and I am a Junior at Salem High School in Virginia Beach, VA. I began playing volleyball my Freshman year, where I earned a spot as the only Freshman in the starting rotation. In my Sophomore year, I was unanimously named Captain of my high school team. I also won the team MVP. Sophomore year was my first year playing club volleyball, where I played at Coastal Virginia Volleyball Club. During my Junior year, I was named captain unanimously, again and again, won the team MVP. I decided to play for Oceans Volleyball Club in my Junior year, where I was named Captain. Our 2019-2020 season was canceled due to the coronavirus COVID-19. My preferred position is Outside Hitter; however, I have extensive experience as a Defensive Specialist. During the offseason, I play in every open gym I have available to me, as well as play for recreational teams at the local Field House.

I aspire to play Division I volleyball because it is the highest level of competition and where I can grow into the best player I can be. In Division I, I can bring my game to the highest level possible. Division I also hosts the best schools for academics, which is really important for becoming a well rounded and balanced adult.
