Growing up I was always involved in a range of sports, but it wasn’t until my freshman year of high school that I discovered my true passion for volleyball. I’m not sure if it was because of my height or my ability to react quickly under pressure, but when my classmates suggested I try out for the team I took their advice and have been hooked ever since. Playing volleyball at the club level has taught me the skills it takes to communicate effectively and lead as an individual, and the level of dedication it takes to work together as a team. Each year as my confidence grows as an athlete, I believe that it also grows in me. This experience has made me want to pursue a degree in physical education and after graduation hope to begin a career as a high school gym teacher and volleyball coach.
Being active is very important to me. I work out regularly, play volleyball every chance I get, and even work at an indoor trampoline park helping kids stay active too! I am looking for a program that would be a good fit both academically and athletically and think I have what it takes to compete at a collegiate level.
