Hey, My name is Bishoy ,and I am a 5’4 flat (2m defender). Back in 8th grade when my family and I had moved from Egypt to California I was looking to continue playing club water polo like I did for 2 years back in Egypt, but my parents couldn’t afford it at the time. Fast forward freshman year I joined the high school team ,but I did so late because I was still unfamiliar with the American education system and how to join a sport in high school. In the summer I attended the high school summer camp and showed my coaches how much potential I had. After season I joined a club, valle unita, but then the pandemic had started. I had to lay off for while, but during that time I tried to keep myself physically fit. I’ve had a hobby that I picked when I came to the U.S. and that was skateboarding. I started skating towards the end of freshman year and I’ve fallen in love with it ever since. Skating didn’t only help me stay in shape, but it also taught me how to overcome my mental battles. I then came to the realization that skating and waterpolo are similar to a point. If you take a look at my transcripts, you will notice that in my freshman year I didn’t do so well academically, and that was because I was still trying to adjust myself to the system. You will also notice that over the semester my grades had gotten better, and that is because I chose to work hard and improve myself instead of just giving up. I am now working towards my goal of getting into medical school and complete my studies to become and anesthesiologist.
