I'm in my junior year of high school and don't know what I want to major in, or what college I want to attend. I played on my high school varsity water polo team my freshman year and sophomore year starting on the varsity team. I was elected as a team captain this year and led my team to win the CIF championship for our D3 league. I also currently swim varsity for my high school. The events I prefer are 50 free and 100 free, although I do swim all events and typically start or anchor the 200 team relays (free and medley). I work on my speed and my stamina in swim as part of my training for water polo and was able to compete in the CIF finals last year.
Part of the reason I chose the school I go to was because I heard the boys' water polo team coach was really good and the team supports each other in and out of the water. I have experienced that first hand. I've experienced a great few years with them, with one more to go. I've been a team starter all three years. When I'm able to, I've helped assist with Friday practices to encourage and give tips to the freshman new to water polo. I've also been able to assist the girls' water polo team when my schedule allows. My goal is to continue to be a leader and set a good example for my team.
I'm not sure yet about my college choices. I have considered the military as a future career. Even though I'm not sure yet, I know it's important that I continue to work hard to achieve the best grades I can, and look for opportunities inside and outside of water polo.
