Personal Statement

I am a 6’0” wing (attacker) from Lafayette, CA.   In 2019 as a Freshman at Acalanes High School, I played JV and received the MVP award as well as being called up to the Varsity team.  Technically as a sophomore in Spring of 2021, I was the 4th leading scorer on Varsity during the short 2020 season.  In the Fall of 2021 I was a Varsity starter as a Junior.  My junior year GPA is currently 3.7.

I have  participated in the highly competitive ODP Pacific Zone twice; 2021 ODP Pacific Zone Cadet Blue Team member, and in 2019 Pacific Zone Clinic participant.

It is my sixth year as a member of CC United water polo club, competing all year round other than during high school competition.   Currently I am a member of the CC United 18U Black (A) team.  Last month our team finished 13th in the nation at JOs.

My JO experience; 2022 Championship Division CC United 18U Black (A) finishing 13th.  2021 Championship Division CC United 16U Black (A) finishing 13th, 2019 Championship Division CC United 14U ”B” (Blue) team finishing 85th,  2018 Championship Division CC United 14U “B” (Blue) team finishing 34th, and 2017 Championship Division CC United 12U ”B” (Blue) team finishing 43rd.

I‘m truly dedicated to water polo and my team.  I demonstrate leadership by working hard at practice and in the weight room, putting in as much as 18 hours a week during peak season, and by how I carry myself out of the pool in my community.  I take a lot of pride in helping my teammates be successful through my balanced play as a defensive and offensive leader so we can all develop and improve together.  The hard work and balanced play has allowed me to rise through the ranks.  My passion is to be a significant contribution to my team.   In college I would push myself to elevate my game, learn from coaches and teammates, and help my teammates.

I think the best fit would be a school mid to large in size.  Most likely in California but I am open to finding the best fit.   The school I am looking at will have the right balance of a highly regarded competitive water polo program and an outstanding academic reputation.
