Personal Statement

I am Mallory Collins and I am dual enrolled at Chugiak High School and Alaska Middle College School, earning college credits. I plan to graduate with the Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish and then go on to play college ball while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biology.

I was a starter on my high school varsity team my freshman year, and I made varsity again my sophomore year. Unfortunately, the season was cancelled due to the pandemic. This summer is my third year with the Arctic Heat organization, a competition team, and my coaches selected me as one of the team captains. In the fall, I will be moving up to the 18U team.

I am a hard worker and have been told by my coaches that I am very coachable. I believe that is one of my greatest strengths as a softball player. I am also a very hard worker in the classroom, which has allowed me to maintain a 4.0 gpa. My goal is to find a college where I can excel in both my academics and as a softball player.
