Hi, my name is Katelyn Ashley Claw. I am a freshman at Monument Valley High School in Kayenta, AZ. I desire to play collegiate softball once I graduate in May of 2020. I am currently planning on starting my first year of softball with the Monument Valley Mustangs.
My primary position is catcher, but I also play 1st and 3rd base as well. I was introduced to softball by my father when I was 10 years old and fell in love with the sport.
I am a team leader who mentors younger softball players that are new to the sport. I am very coachable and adapt to changes and constructive criticism well.
Academically, I am an A & B student. My GPA is forthcoming. I strive to work hard academically and lead by example for younger student/athletics in the classroom as I do on the field. I am a member of Upward Bound and take an active role in my freshman class activities.
Coming from a small town on the Navajo Nation, I don’t have the privileges of joining a traveling team. That just inspires me to work harder to achieve my goals and my goal is to become a collegiate athlete.
