Jaeden Murphy '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coach! I am Jaeden Murphy also known as Murph, J-Bird, or just J. I am a 2022 catcher (primary), but am able to play where needed. I currently attend Willow Canyon High School in Surprise, Arizona. This season, we are ranked #1 in 5A and are a favorite to win the state championship with an 18-1 record going into the second round of the playoffs. 

Through my years of playing club ball, I have played with some of the best teams, and competed against the best players in the country. I’m a team first catcher, and have the ability to command the defense. Over the past few years, I have caught for several D1 commits, as well as some current D1 pitchers. My desire is to play for a competitive Division 1 program that will push me to be a better player and all around person. 

I am considered a power hitter, but also bat for average. I have had over 30 homeruns the last couple years, and am currently batting .476 during my high school season. During my freshman year I set the record for doubles (18) as well as broke the hits record with 54.  I am on pace to reset the homerun record for a season and the overall career doubles record at Willow Canyon. 

Most importantly, I am looking for a school who’s highest priority is competing, winning, and having fun while playing the game. I am also looking for a team that will help me grow as a person on and off the field. I am a player who will do anything for her team and lives for the big moment in games.
