When I started playing softball, I immediately fell in love with the sport. Even though I started out in a house league, I always tried my hardest and held myself to the highest expectations. After my first season, I couldn't wait to join the next year and have fun with my friends all over again. Even though I am playing more competitively now, my passion for the game and the friends I meet along the way has never faltered- it has grown stronger.
Softball has allowed me to discover and improve my strengths on and off the field. During the game I am a team leader both in the field and at bat, I will always do what is best for my team. Along with taking on leadership roles in my team, I know that there is always something I can learn from my teammates and I am a very coachable player. Overall, this sport has taught me perseverance and confidence that has also shaped who I am as a person, especially in school settings. I have applied perseverance and confidence to my school work and found great results. I believe i would be a great asset to any team because I hold myself to a high standard and can simultaneously lead and learn.
My postsecondary goal is to play the highest level of softball i can without having to sacrifice a great education. I am looking to study kinesiology, biology, or psychology at a good school where I can find a community of like-minded athletes.
