Mia Cortez '23 Recruiting Profile

I'm Mia Cortez, 2023 uncommitted player, Senior at Escondido High School.  I'm a Pitcher and Outfielder for both my Travelball and High School Teams.  I love the grind, I put in the extra work and I challenge myself to grow and to develop my skills everyday.  I strive to always be the best player and teammate I can be.   My 20-yard dash is 2.906, 40-yard dash is 5.589, Bat Speed 62.2, Hand Speed 22.5, time to contact .17, Ball Exit Speed 63, overall Allister Index 72.6 rating.  I fell in love with pitching when I was twelve years old and I have been working hard ever since on my ability to command my pitches, Drop, Change and Screwball being the best three.  I'm also a great outfielder and can play all three outfield positions, spending most of my time in Centerfield.  Being a pitcher allows me to be involved in every play of the game, using my skills and leadership on the field.  I've had a leadership position on both my travelball and high school teams.  I was voted Team Captain both my Senior and Junior on my High School Team, and appointed Team Captain by the Team Manager for my travelball team, (Power Surge Fox 18U).
