Hi! My name is Hannah Arellano. I am in the 2023 class at Escondido High School (CA), where I run both Track and Cross Country, and play Soccer. I am seeking a 4-year college with the combination of both a great running and academic program; one that will help me to become the best runner and student I can be.
I have a 4.0 GPA. I am undecided in my exact career path, but I have interest in Business and STEM. I am proud to say that I will be the first of my family to attend a four-year college. I am self-motivated to do the best I can in everything I do, and I am eager to learn as a student, so I am confident I will be academically successful in whatever major I choose.
I have played many sports growing up, as I love to be active. I am a good listener, leader, and helper. I try to be a great teammate, leader on and off the field, and helper for my coaches. I have been running for my high school’s varsity team for the past three years and have been the top runner for our girls’ team for the past two. I enjoy running and all the experiences that come with it: the competition, the physical challenges, the need to dig deep to compete during races, the comradery with my teammates, and the ability to see much of San Diego during my races. I enjoy the challenge of training and the competition of the meets. For track, I have raced the 4x100m, 4x400m, 800m, 1600m, and the 3200m. This junior season, the 800m has been my focus. My best race was at the Mt. Carmel Invitational where I ran 2.29. As for cross country, I have raced at many distances between 1.5 and 4 miles. Since my freshman year, I have improved in most every race. I find that my internal drive and competition helps me to feel the challenges of the moment, and to be able to raise my levels.
Over the past year, I have really defined myself as a student and as an athlete. I have found my path and really determined what it is that I want to do after high school. I look forward to connecting with college coaches who see my college potential and upward trajectory, who love their job and love teaching athletes, and who can help make me the best college student and athlete that I can be!
