Sydnee Turner will be a 2018 high school graduate. Her positions are primarily center field, outfield utility, shortstop, second base, and designated runner. She attends Central High School East Campus, in Fresno, Ca. She is 5'2" and weighs 138lbs.
She is an outstanding student athlete and has a 4.0 GPA; her current SAT score is pending at this time. She has taken two years of AP college courses. She has been a Gate student (accelerated academic) since junior high school, and has taken accelerated and honors classes as well throughout high school.
Sydnee is also a great team player with a lot of dedication and sportsmanship to the game and her teams. She currently plays Travel Softball for the Wolf Pack 18Gold Alkire, coached by Melanie and Bill Ruiz. The Wolf Pack summer season was 64-6. She played Travel Softball with the Clovis Rockets 18U Gold for two summer seasons from 2016-2017, and guest played on the Grapettes 18U Gold Travel Softball, coached by Dan Pearson. She has also played for the Clovis Rockets 16U Premier one summer season and one fall season. Sydnee has played one year of frosh softball with Central High School 2014 - 2015, and three years currently with varsity softball 2015 - 2018. She has played eight years with the Central Youth Softball Association from 2007 - 2014. She played two years of junior high softball for Glacier Point Middle School, and two years of elementary school softball for Harvest Elementary.
She is a tremendous and outstanding outfielder and infielder with a very strong arm and controlled throw. She has great range and judgement of the ball. She hits with a lot of strength and power with an average bat speed on impact of 83mph with a hand speed of 33mph. Her top bat speed at impact is 92mph, according to the Zepp Baseball-Softball 2 and 3D Swing Analyzer over three batting lessons and 300 at bats. Her home to first base speed is 2.78 seconds and her second base to home speed is 5.59 seconds, which has assisted her in stealing 9 out of 9 stolen base attempts and scoring 14 runs in her last high school season of 2016 - 2017 to help the team come in first place in their Division 1 Trac and second place in the Central Valley Championship. She has a lot of body speed and bat speed that has been outstanding, with quick hands and quick feet.
Sydnee works out with Jerral Brown for Speed and Agility Training, where she works on strengthening and conditioning while focusing on her speed increase and agility development for a more explosive and strong performance on the field. She takes weekly batting lessons with Gerry Grisham at TNL Diamond Academy. Sydnee also trains with Galen Stearns, fielding coach.
Outside of softball she enjoys baking and getting creative, such as ceramics, where she won 2nd and 3rd place on two of her projects for Central High School in the Fresno Fair competing against all other Fresno County high schools. She enjoys drawing, and other art activities. She has been a Fresno Chaffee Zoo teen volunteer for two and a half years, with two summers and a winter volunteer session. She has also volunteered with the Fresno Rescue Mission, Mission at the Mission, and the Poverello House, located in Fresno, Ca, with her church, Central Community Church with 3 years of volunteering. She has also partaken in community service activities with her church.
She belongs to the Central High School Christian CG3 Bible Club, Spanish Club, and Sports Medicine Club. Throughout her years at Central High School, she has also participated in Athletes are Readers and Leaders and Interact Club. In junior high, she participated in two years of the History Day Club for Glacier Point Middle School. She enjoys being outdoors, such as camping yearly, and she is very intrigued with fine arts such as music and dance. She has had 3 years of dance, 1 year of violin in orchestra, and 3 years of Clarinet in band. She was a member of the team in the Academic Decathlon 2014-2015. She was on the wrestling team for one year at Harvest Elementary School 2012 and placed 3rd in the 112lbs division for Central Unified School District.
