My name is Sophia Knight. My coaches and teammates call me peanut. I am 16 years old and graduate high school in 2023. I am currently the starting CF for our 18U Wildcats Weil travel team. I am also the starting CF for our high school team in Huntington Beach, Ca.
I fell in love playing the outfield when I moved from 2B in 12U. I work hard on my fielding and throwing craft trying to be the best centerfielder I can be. I pay attention to the small details that can improve my defense.
Due to my speed, I converted into a slap hitter when I was in 10U. In 12U, I added hitting away and slapping with power. I love the cat and mouse game that being a quick left slap hitting hitter creates for me at the plate against the defense.
I have been told that my IQ for the game is very high and I love being aggressive on the bases.
I am a self-starter and a disciplined athlete who also takes her academics very seriously. I have a 4.0 GPA and my goal is to continue playing softball for a competitive D1 program that also offers a great education.
Outside of softball, I enjoy going to the beach with my friends and family. I also enjoy babysitting children as I connect easily with them.
