Personal Statement

Dear Coach,

My name is Sydney Juarez, and I am a 2023 high school grad student-athlete at Salinas High School. I have been playing softball for the past 11 years and have competed every practice and game like it is my last. I enjoy being on and off the field with my teammates because I believe in having a strong, well-bonded team with a family-oriented organization. I understand how playing softball is a privilege and I want to be an asset to your team. I believe I am a very coachable, driven and competitive player. I am willing to go the ‘extra mile’ to become the best softball player I could become. I go to a strength and conditioning coach three times a week, along with hitting and fielding lessons with another coach throughout the week.

For college, I am planning for a psychology or nursing bachelors degree or and then attend grad school. I not only would love to excel in softball, but do better in the classrooms. I am hoping by the end to be a pediatric occupational therapist or pediatric nurse practitioner as a career. Along with the normal college experience, I desire to have lifelong friends, who I would call my teammates in softball. I want to become the best possible version of myself by furthering my academic and athletic career at your college.

My faith and family have always been my top two priorities in life. Through hard and good times, the two have not only been there for me, but supported me every step of the way. I am very grateful to have such a loving and caring family who mean so much to me and I could not repay them in any way possible for all they have done. Knowing that God blessed me with such a good family, I try my hardest to serve those who are not as lucky as me. I volunteer at The American Cancer Society and Dorothy’s Kitchen in Salinas, CA to spread kindness and help those in need.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and having potential interest in me.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
