Personal Statement

Hello Coaches,

My name is Aubrey Ortiz and I am a softball player in the class of 2023. I am a center fielder and slapper, currently playing for the Big Fly Athletics travel club in north San Diego County.  As the lead off hitter for the last few seasons, I have lead the team in steals, runs scored and on-base percentage. I will be entering my senior year at Mission Hills High School in San Marcos, CA.

I currently do private workouts for slapping, speed and outfield skills with coach Adam Mena. I have also worked out with former Cal State Fullerton 2017 NFCA All-West Region and 2-time All-Big West Conference First Team honoree, Delynn Rippy for both slapping and speed.

I completed an Inaugural 6-Week case study program back in Oct 23, 2019 with All-American and US Olympian, Natasha Watley (made available to only 5 applicants) and I continue following coach Watley through her Game Changers tutorials.

I have a very high interest in Journalism. Finding the right school environment over the next few years is very important and my hope is that I can continue playing the sport I love while getting the education I need in order to follow my career path.

Thank you for taking the time to review my bio and hope our paths cross in the future.

Aubrey Ortiz
