Hi my name is Autumn Walker and I am 16 years old. Every since I can remember I have wanted to go to college, and become successful. I have had a strive on wanting to go to college because when I finally am willing to have children, I can give them the best life possible and let them live out their dreams. Currently I am taking Honors English and I am a year ahead in math. I put my academics before sports because I look at life after college and after Softball. I want to become a Marriage and Family Therapist and help those in need and try and help people through their problems. While I am in college I would love to play softball because when I was little I started to play the sport and enjoy it. I found my true passion for it in 2019 though. I started to play for a travel program called the Norcal Diamonds and we played a lot of tournaments in California. That drive and competitiveness really helped me find my drive and love for the game. Since 6th grade I have been playing 3rd base and after that first time playing it, I have loved it. I loved getting the line drives and to get the bunt recovery. Overall its my favorite position out on the field, but also in the fall of 2019 I started to play Center Field for my travel team and my coach started to put me there because I had speed and drive to catch the ball and I loved it because I could see the whole field. I could watch and play the game at the same time!!! Over this quarantine ( California is still pretty locked down) I have been focusing more on my tee work and foot placement. Before I moved, I lived too far out to go into town and try to practice with anyone, but ever since I moved I have tried my hardest to get to know more people who have a strive and motivation in getting better in the games baseball and softball. On January 30 2021, Softball had yet to start at my new school, and my PE teacher is the baseball coach and he was asking me if we had started and I had to say "no" because my coaches weren't ready to go and do conditioning and all that stuff yet, so he asked me "Autumn, do you want to put in extra work?" and I told him "Of course I do, I hate sitting at home and not being able to practice." He invited me to his baseball practice and so I went on that Saturday and we did conditioning and infield work. I partnered up with the coaches son and I saw his drive and passion for baseball and we both started to talk about how we wanted to go to college and how much work we both still needed to put in to get to the point that we want!! Just seeing his drive made me want to work harder and made my drive more forth coming. Every since then, I have repeatedly worked on the drills I learned that day to make me a better and more put forth ball player.
