In all honesty I haven't know the sport of softball long, I played once when I was about 8 but just recently reconnected. When I came back to play softball at the beginning of summer last year, I honestly didn't know what to expect. But right from the get-go I excelled at softball. From the first practice to our first official game I have never fallen so deeply in love with a sport. I have never connected to a sport that way I have with softball. I have finally found a sport I actually wanted to try at. Something to put all my energy into, something, I might add, that I wasn't half bad at. Since the first or second practice I knew that I wanted to be a first baseman. It's the position I put all my effort into every single practice and game. I put all of my time, energy, and space left in my mind into softball, and I'm pleased to say it wasn't a waste. I've worked so hard this entire season to understand better, to play better, to have a better mindset, and learn as many new things about my position and the game as possible, and I believe it shows.
