Hi, first off thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I have been playing softball since I was six years old and it was always a passion from day one. I went from follower to leader over the years as I changed teams, made age division transitions, and eventually started playing for high school. I look forward to the future and the potential it holds, including playing for a college. The honor to represent a team on a collegiate level is something that I dream of. I have the drive, the motivation, and most importantly, the passion to be the best player I can be to benefit and work together among my teammates to succeed. While people define success differently, my definition is the act of everyone on and off the field putting in every effort forward to work together and win. Success to me is not winning, because even the best teams in the world would not win if they could not communicate or work together. I value the relationship with my teammates as much as I value any other relationship. A successful team must trust not only each other's ability but the fact that each member will put out their best effort on and off the field. My high school coach tells everyone at tryouts, including the returning players, that no one is guaranteed their spot on varsity, regardless if you have played at that level for years in the past. I agree with this because making it to the higher level does not mean once you sign the paper, you are done working towards that goal. It only means you have to work harder to maintain that accomplishment and continue to earn that honor. At any moment, that title could be taken, whether it be a consequence due to a mistake, or an injury, every moment from the day you commit yourself to the day you turn in your uniform, you represent your team, your coaches, and your institution. I work every day to make myself a better student, a better athlete, and most importantly, a better person. Thank you for your time.
