Hi my name is Brighton Harder.
I am an upcoming Senior at Lumpkin County High School. I have been blessed to compete in athletics for many years and have experienced much success. I have played Basketball, ran Track and Field, and played Softball. Even though I have broken several School records in Track and Field, Softball has always been my number one passion and best sport. My speed is what sets me apart from other players. I have stolen 175 bases in 183 attempts in the previous 6 seasons (2 High School & 4 Travel). I run from home to first in 2.7 seconds and home to home in 11.1 seconds. I started out as a third in the batting order right handed hitter and have since switched to being a slap hitting leadoff batter. I have done very well with that and continue working to master the art of slapping. I have also taken lessons and am working hard on my traditional left handed swing so that I can be diverse in swinging the bat in all situations. I enjoy the chess match of seeing how teams decide to try to defend me, adjusting to how the pitcher tries to pitch me as well as trying to exploit the defense at its weakest points.
I have always wanted to not only do my best but also to encourage my teammates to be the best they can be as well. I feel the best leadership is to lead by example as well as providing an encouraging word when appropriate.
My collegiate goal is to use my athletic abilities to attend and excel at a school that would best fit me and my desired majors. I am interested in Science and Business and have a few different careers in mind to pursue.
I am excited for my Senior year and looking forward to what the future brings.
