Playing varsity high school softball as a freshman was an accomplishment I had been working towards since I was 8 or 9 years old. Having accomplished that, the goal now is to play at the collegiate level. I love playing the game and have learned about teamwork, commitment, perseverance, and always giving your best effort. But, the number one thing I have gained from playing softball is self-confidence. This has helped me on and off the field.
The one thing that has always separated me from other players has been my willingness to put in the time to get better. I have always put in extra hours in the cage hitting and extra fielding practice. I have been doing specialized workouts at home 3-4 times per week for the past two years to strengthen and develop my body. I do all this while spending many hours doing homework and studying to maintain my 4.4 GPA. It's a lot, but definitely worth it.
