Personal Statement

Hello,

My name is Amaya Johnson, I’m a 5’5, 135lb. point guard / shooting guard. My goal is to play Division I basketball, however, I am open to other opportunities to play Division II, Division III, NAIA, and JUCO if necessary.

School is my number one priority. I have a 3.45 GPA while taking multiple AP and Honors courses while participating on the varsity basketball and cheerleading teams. I want to pursue a degree in sports medicine and business. Since I first started playing the game of basketball, I have wanted to play basketball in college and further my career as a professional. I want to play this game until I can not run up and down the court anymore.

Division I basketball is where best of the best are seen on a wide platform, this is an opportunity to represent my state of Georgia and the college/universities brand. Having that ability to be someone others can rely on is an enormous responsibility which I believe I can uphold incredibly well.

I am a high character, high integrity individual who gives back to the community in many ways. When it comes to athletics, I am coachable and coming from a family of many successful athletes, businessmen and women. I understand how much commitment to hard work and dedication it takes to become successful.

My goal is to make my dreams a reality and one day become an alumni of my university, a professional athlete, and own a professional practice in sports medicine after my career has ended. I will not stop pushing until I get to where I want to go.

Thank you for taking the time to read my statement. I look forwarded to hearing from you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Amaya Johnson

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
