Softball Factory ...Personal Statement
I have been actively playing softball year round since I was 8 years old. I am very passionate about softball. I love the competiveness and comradery of being a team member. I play to win and I always maintain respect for my coach, my team-mates and my opponents regardless of the circumstances. I am currently 5' 4" and still growing.
I am a catcher and a utility player. I play travel ball but I have represented Sprayberry High School softball program since I was a 4th grader. I am proud to be a Yellow Jacket. I look forward to playing softball at the collegiate level. I am interested in Forensics and my immediate academic goal is to complete a social science undergraduate preferably in Forensics or Criminology.
I also play lacrosse for Sprayberry High School and have been a goalie since my freshman year. In my spear time I play the piano and I try to improve my art as I love to draw. I also volunteer at the Marietta Museum of History. I attend Piedmont Church in Marietta, Georgia. I am very happy and I live with my parents Carole and Michael Abney who continues to support my interests in academics and sports.

- 01/25/2014 - Premium Video Program - Lawrenceville (Atlanta), GA Julia is an evolving C with a balanced skill set. Defensively, she has good glove control, fluid footwork and aggressively attacks bunts. Working on a quicker transfer and powerline will help to improve throwdowns. Overall, Julia makes adjustments and has a confident approach to playing defense. At the plate, she has an aggressive approach and keeps her balance centered before making hard contact to various hitting fields. She shows good power and will benefit from implementing a stride and load to improve timing and power on contact, ultimately allowing her to access the entire field effectively.
