Thanks for taking the time to look over my NCSA profile.
A quick personal review:
I'm the only child between my parents, who have been happily married for almost 17 years. I have a half-brother who is 12 years older than me (same father) that played football, baseball and basketball, and went on to play football at Shorter University for 1 year. My family and I are very close. I have a wonderful support system, some great friends, and good health. I played t-ball, wheel pitch, then live pitch, with a short break for 3 years of competitive swimming with our local aquatics club. I LOVE Jesus, my niece, dogs, cats, softball, fishing, hunting with my Dad, and hanging out with my friends.
How its going:
My freshmen year is coming to an end, and softball is filling up the calendar. I play with an 18U travel team (Cage - Mills) out of Odum Georgia. We are #1 in the state in power ranking, and #3 in the state in points (USSSA link: https://usssa.com/fastpitch/teamHome/?teamID=2971219). I'm also a member of our high school softball team. Being a 9th grader, I played JV this past season, and pitched every game. Pitching and leading my team helped me grow into a much more mature team member, as well as bringing my mental game into focus. I learned quickly to move forward, learning from my mistakes, accepting constructive criticism, and just focusing on the next pitch.
Need to know:
I am a right handed pitcher, getting stronger every week. I have played every position on the field, but my favorite is pitching. When I'm not pitching, I'm at 3rd. I know what it means to be a team player, to root for others when I'm a sub, to bring everything I've got to the field and leave it there. I work with my pitching coach year round to gain accuracy and strength. On days that I'm not practicing or playing with my teams, I work at home, or go to the local cages to get in a few buckets.
A little more:
My second "extra-curricular" is being our school mascot. I attend all the Varsity football games, meeting and greeting fans of all ages. I enjoy taking pictures with all the little kids, and dancing with the cheerleaders on the sideline. One of my favorite events as the mascot is to attend PBIS programs with the cheerleaders at the local elementary schools. Seeing the kids' smiling faces when they look up at my big toothy grin (Gator) is always a treat.
Academics:
My most recent report card (3rd 9 weeks): Algebra 81, English 97, Ag. Science 88, Intro to Business & Technology 95. Currently, I want to become a surgical technician, and possibly teach or coach young athletes along the way.
Mission:
Wherever I choose to attend college, I will be purposeful with my time. I will work hard to bring my whole heart to the team. I will commit to pushing myself to grow, achieve and succeed. I promise to love others, as Christ loves me. I pray others will see Jesus in my life, and that others will come to know and love Him.
