I have been playing softball for over eight years. Throughout all of these years, I have learned what it takes to be a team player and what it means to be 100% committed. Through softball, I discovered that I enjoy being a part of a team and I work best in a team atmosphere. I have learned that softball is not an individual sport and you need to work together for everyone to succeed. Something that I am really proud of is that I learned to be a leader and what it takes to be a good leader, how to delegate, motivate and encourage others for the good of the team. Being around the sport for such a long time I have had to make a lot of difficult choices. I work part-time and at certain parts of the year, I have to limit my hours to almost none because of softball workouts, practices, and games. I rarely have time with my friends outside of softball, but they are very supportive with my life choices and why I spend the majority of my time at softball. Sometimes I even have to drive an hour to practice on a school night. To some, it may seem like making sacrifices but to me, it is pursuing my passion. My life revolves around softball and I wouldn't want it any other way. Softball has given me the opportunity to build relationships and meet forever friends. I am very grateful for the sacrifices my family has made in order for me to pursue my dream as a softball player. As I continue with my softball career I plan to learn more about myself and what I have to do in order to be my best. I am always looking to improve as a person on and off the field.
