Katelyn Del Re '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Katie Del Re and I am from Hampshire Illinois and a member of the 2020 graduating class. I am hoping to find the right fit with a college program where I can utilize and develop both my athletic and academic talents. I have played softball since I was 6 and had the great fortune of “playing up” on older teams for as long as I can remember. I am passionate about sports as I am a multi-sport athlete who plays varsity softball and varsity basketball for my High School and travel softball and basketball. I consider myself a highly competitive team player with a good work ethic and great attitude. I always try to earn the respect of my coaches and teammates by being a team leader whether in a game or at practice. I am a very versatile player and continue to play every position on the field. I am a starting pitcher, middle infielder and outfielder for my high school team and a starting pitcher and shortstop for my travel softball team. You will find me on the field wherever I am needed. I hit from the right side and slap from the left so I can take advantage of my speed on the base path. My experiences on the field have taught me the value of dedication and perseverance and I do my best to demonstrate those qualities in both athletic and academic settings. I have a strong academic background and currently maintain a 4.0 GPA with a mix of honors classes. My goal is to play college softball and earn my degree in a program where I can be a valued teammate and exceptional student.
