Miranda BonDurant '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Miranda BonDurant and I am a 2023 Catcher/SS at Montini Catholic HS in Lombard, IL. In 8th grade I decided that I wanted to go to a High School that had a competitive Athletic program as well as challenging academics. For me that school was in the suburbs, a 45-minute drive from the City. This would mean I need to wake up at 5:00am, catch my first train at 6:20, second train at 6:50, school bus at 7:20 to make it to school by 7:50am. This is an example of my commitment to the sport I LOVE!

I've been playing softball for over 7 years and through my journey I've worked extremely hard to excel as an athlete. It has been my dream to play college softball ever since I started going to my parent’s games as a young kid. After watching their games, I was determined to learn how to do a pop-up slide.

As a catcher I feel it's my job to help control the pace of the game, motivate my team and keep the energy up on the field. The pitchers circle can be a lonely place when you think the game falls on your shoulders. It's my job to notice when a quick walk the to the mound is needed, a little joke or "WOW, your hair looks great", smile, get out of your head and now let's get down to business.

This is the kind of player I am! I will always strive to be the best player I can be without losing the person I want to be.
