I have been playing the game of softball since I was five years old and it has always been a dream of mine to play at the college level. Growing up in a competitive household, I have learned that hard work and dedication is key and that has shaped me into who I am today. With my birthday being in November, it has given me the opportunity to play with older girls throughout my developing softball career. As a Freshman, I was a starting varsity pitcher. We play a very competitive non-conference and conference schedule. Another obstacle I've learned to overcome, is my diagnosis of bilateral hearing loss. None of these events have stopped me from reaching my goals. In fact, they motivated me to reach a higher level of competiveness. By gaining acceptance into Illinois State University's Lab School, University High School, I am exposed to a challenging curriculum that requires determination. I was even able to achieve a 4.0/4.0 grade point average this year. Having the drive to succeed in the classroom and on the playing field, makes me a well rounded candidate to play at the collegiate level.
