Do you have a champion’s mind? I do. I would like to play softball for a team with a winning attitude and for a college that challenges my intellect. My goal is to be an Academic All-American. Whether I am in class or on the field, it is my competitiveness that makes me want to be the best in everything I do. I have the need to win. I want teammates who have the same drive, determination and dedication to softball as I do.
There are many high school infielders who have laid out for an amazing catch, snow coned a catch or slid for a stolen base. But what sets me apart from other third base and short stops besides my running speed, my impressive batting average, and my fielding percentages? My consistency, my control and my coolness under pressure.
My teammates count on me and look up to me whether we are up by 10 runs or down by 1. My coaches trust me whether I am up to bat or playing short stop. My confidence calms me and helps me focus. I trust the training of my coaches which helps me stay in control during any situation. I may not throw the perfect run down every time, but I learn more about the game and myself every inning, and every game. That is why I should earn a spot on a college roster. I have the talent to play at the college level and I hope you have the talent to make me even better so we can win a championship!
