My name is Maya Gallagher, a right-handed pitcher and corner infielder from Wamego, KS. I started playing softball at 8 years old and immediately fell in love with the game. At age 10, a friend and teammate invited me to join her in a private pitching lesson. As I began learning proper form and mechanics, I knew I wanted to be a pitcher and have been playing consistently and picking up on teams around the state ever since. I am a hard worker, a fierce competitor, and feel most confident and at my best when in the circle. I love the challenge of facing batters and using different pitches to help my team collect outs. I am a reliable and consistent middle of the order hitter.
Several years ago, my school started a year-round health and wellness program designed to get youth in our community in the weight room. I have participated in this program since its inception and love spending time in the weight room lifting and getting stronger. I am a multiple sport athlete, participating in tennis, basketball, and softball.
My goal is to join a highly competitive college program and use my skills and abilities to help the team.
