Sydney Parlett '22 Recruiting Profile

    Hello, I am Sydney Parlett. I currently attend Northern High School and will graduate in 2022.  I am currently ranked as a (Top 100 Player) for 2022 by Extra Inning Softball and the 38th ranked catcher in the nation for 2022 by Extra Inning Softball.  I've played softball since the age of nine and have exemplified my love for the sport throughout the years by playing on Northern Calvert Fury Greever and now for Suzy Willemssen - Va Glory 16u. I primarily catch, while my secondary positions include middle infield. However, of course, I am flexible to other positions. 

    Although I am very athletically focused, I consider myself more academically oriented.  Aside for the B in handwriting that I earned in first grade, I have never received below an A on a report card.  Both on the field and in the classroom, I am very determined, very focused on my goals,  and very hard-working. My ninth-grade year at Northern, I upheld first in my class rank and earned a cumulative GPA of 4.1429. At the end-of-the-year Underclassmen Award Ceremony, I was awarded with the "Pythagoras Award" for having the highest grade-point average in Honors Geometry all four quarters out of all Honors Geometry students.  I was also given the "Painting and Drawing" award as I let my passion for art take over this school year. I participated in 9th Grade Class Council and Student Government, in which I will uphold the "Community Outreach Chair" position in the 2019-2020 school year, and received an award for those clubs this year. Both programs helped educate me on the importance of teamwork and communication. 

I am a very positive and vocal leader.  I am always told my presence on the field changes the atmosphere of a game in a big way.  My drive, positive encouragement and tenacity helps everyone around me be better.  My motto is "OUT GRIND, OUT HUSTLE, OUT WORK EVERYONE".  I at least give everything I have at everything I do.
