I started playing softball when I was 5 years old mainly because it’s the family sport. However, once I started playing everyone told me there was this spark I had when I played, and they knew that softball would be my sport. As I got older I slowly became more addicted to everything softball related. From the rush of the sport itself to the friendships you make with your teammates. Through softball I learned determination and dedication, my ability to put in the hard work necessary to reach my goals and also putting aside time with friends to push myself towards these goals. I also learned how important it is to have a positive mindset not just for yourself but for those around you.
Since my academics are so important to me I always found myself balancing life on and off the field. While maintaining a straight A average and participating in after school activities I made sure that softball had my full attention so I could succeed on the field but still maintain my grades. I hope that in college I can have a coach who will support me as I grow as a person and as I try to reach more goals, and a team that will always be there for each other, it would almost feel more like a family
