Personal Statement

I’m excited to announce that I will attend Rhode Island College in the Fall of 2022 and continue my softball career as an Anchorwoman and play for Coach Mary Holt-Kelsch.

  • The tournaments I played in the Fall 2018, New England's Finest Fall Showcase October 20-21, I played on the 18U Showcase Team for the Polar Crush. I caught 2 games and played left field. My 14U Team played in Plainville, MA Columbus Day Clash October 6-7, we were the tournament champions. I caught 3 games and played 3rd base 3 games. New Jersey at Team New Jersey Showcase October 12-14. We played 5 games, I caught 2 complete games and played 3rd base and catcher in the other 3 games.
  • 2018 Rhode Island Thunder Gold (14U)
  • I caught in 70% of all games. We were tournament finalists in the Charlton and Friendship Tournaments. We made it to the semi-finals in the RI ASA States and in the Hurricane on the Hill tournaments.
  • 2017 RI Thunder Gold 12U (12U)
  • I played every inning of every game on the schedule. I was the number 1 catcher and caught 75% of the games the other 25% I played 3rd base.
  • 2016 Polar Crush (12U)
  • I was the number 1 catcher and played every inning of every game. During the season when I was not catching I played 3rd base and short stop. I led the team in batting average and runs scored. We played in the 24 team 12U Diamond Nation Tournament in Flemington, NJ. It was the highlight of our season.
  • 2015 Central Mass Thunder (12U)
  • I played up this season and was the number 2 catcher, I also played right field.

  • Member of the 24 week Varsity School. This is my 5th year in Varsity, I attended the 10 week Futures School for 3 years prior to the Varsity School. The Varsity School is broken down with 30 minutes of catcher specific drills, followed by 1 hour of hitting (live pitching, front toss, extended front toss and T drill work), and then catching for my pitcher for 1 hour. During the 1 hour pitching portion I learn more about specific pitches and how they should spin and move I also working on framing and altering my throw backs to the pitcher.

  • The 1 week Jay Weaver Catcher's Camp. Attended the camp for 2 years 2016 and 2017. Held in Manchester, NH.

  • 2 years
  • Completed four 6 week training courses, and 1 10 week course (completed 3/14/19) taught by Tufts University Alumnus Jo Clair, 2 time NCAA Division III Softball Champion. Attended the first ever Protect the Plate Prospect one day camp.
  • Worcester Polytechnic Institute Summer Softball Camp

  • Completed 4 1 week long courses taught Head Coach Whitney (Mollica) Goldstein. The camp was 1 week long 7 hours a day, the instructors were the coaches and players at WPI. I have been selected to instruct the middle school players this year at the 2019 Summer Camp.

  • ActivitiesI am involved in Chorus and Drama at the High School. I was the lead villain, Ursula, in the 8th grade production of The Little Mermaid. As a freshman in high school I am part of the ensemble for our musical Mamma Mia. I am very active in Chorus since the 4th grade. I have performed in the Winter and Spring Concerts for the past 6 years. I am a member of the Northbridge High A Cappella Group the N-Harmonics, we perform at the high school and regional competitions. I volunteered my time as a server for my middle school Veterans' Breakfast, held every Veterans' Day. Also involved with sharing testimony in Massachusetts Public Schools Food Shaming. My testimony was presented at the Massachusetts State House.
