Hi, I am Zoey Markey. I have been playing softball since I was 4 years old. The first time I ever stepped out on the field, I knew this was the sport for me. A big reason I became so in love with the game is because my dad has always had a love for the sport. I wanted to share that same passion and love for the game with my dad.
Throughout my life, I have learned so much about myself and about life playing softball. Softball in an imperfect sport and I love the challenge of getting better each and every time I step on the field. Just like in life, sometimes the “hops” go your way and sometime they don’t. However, I’ve learned that the only play that matters more than the last one is the next one.
My academics goals for high school are to maintain my 4.0 GPA and carry that into college. I have a love for playing softball but for me, academics in college is really important as well. I want to become an engineer or pursue a degree in computer science. I want a degree knowing that I can walk out of college with great opportunities.
Some unique skills of mine are I can make friends very easily. I love to meet new people, build relationships and create lasting memories. I thrive on putting the work in so I can prove people wrong. When they told me I wasn’t strong enough, I still got them out. When they told me I wasn’t tall enough I still got them out. I love that Softball allows athletes of all shapes and sizes to be successful. I can bring my energy and confidence to any team. Thank you for reading my profile and I look forward to showcasing my talents to see if I would be a good fit for your program.
