My name is Azea Lightbody and I am a 2023 graduate of Timberland High School in Wentzville, MO. I am a middle infielder working on my outfield skills. I consider myself a fast runner and I am working to improve my leg strength so I can run faster. I speed train 3x a week to meet my goal. I am also working on my core strength to get my bat through the zone faster and to make faster, harder throws in the field. I love the game of softball. The competition helps me improve my game to become a better player. I communicate every play, before and during. When I am locked in, I can drive the ball for doubles and triples. I also love the relationships I create with my teammates and other girls I meet at college camps. I am a good teammate because I encourage others on the team to let go of their mistakes and learn from them to do better. I apply this to myself as well. I believe my mental game has improved because I am able to get past an error in time for the next play and I am always ready for the ball to be hit to me and make a good play. I am in honors classes and I strive for straight A's. I understand how important academics are in this process and will always be my number one priority. I plan to study Biology. My GPA is 3.97 and I scored a 25 on the ACT during my sophomore year. I'm looking forward to my first tournament of the 2021-2022 season to show off my work in the off-season and the improvement in my game. I am more mature and a much better player physically and mentally than last year. I look forward to creating well-maintained relationships with coaches and teammates throughout my softball career. I love learning more about softball and ways I can improve my game to become the best player I can be. Thanks for taking the time to look through my information!
