December 2019Personal Statement
My goal as a student-athlete is to successfully represent my university both in the classroom and on the field of play. My career aspiration is to become an elementary school teacher one day. I believe the lessons I have learned on the softball field will prepare me well for my adult life. I have learned how to compete at the highest levels and work with my teammates to achieve success. And to always treat the game and the opposition with the utmost respect.
In addition to being an excellent student, I take pride in being a good teammate and someone who is open to feedback and coaching. I can play multiple positions including first base, pitcher, second base and the outfield. I am a gap-to-gap hitter with a solid approach at the plate. I take great pride in driving in runs or sacrificing a runner into scoring position, whatever my team needs.
I have also learned how to give back to my community by continuing to serve as a Girl Scout. For these efforts, I was awarded the Silver Award, which is the highest honor a Girl Scout Cadette can receive.
I hope I can find the right university and softball program that will give me the opportunity to thrive on the field and in the classroom.
