Megan Garcia '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Megan Garcia, I'm a 2021 athlete from Elkhorn, Nebraska. In the summer I play for Elkhorn Edge Select Softball as a pitcher, 3rd base and utility.  During the High School season I'm a pitcher and right fielder at Elkhorn High. My skills include being a hard worker, a team player, and a coach-able athlete. I started playing softball around the age of 6.  I thought It was just for fun and never really saw myself playing in the future.  Once I moved from a rec league to a select team I knew that softball was the sport for me. The competition that comes with softball is something you can't find anywhere else. I love putting everything I have on the field and pushing myself to the limit, just to get a sweet taste of victory. I bring a positive energy in everything I do, win or lose.  You never lose if you always learn something.

I want to pursue a career as an English teacher so finding a college that fits that criteria, and a good softball team, would be my dream! I would love to play softball at the highest level and further my academics.

My primary position on the field is pitcher, I throw a curve, screwball, fastball, change up, rise ball, and drop ball. In the off season I work hard to perfect these pitches by doing drills that push me to hit my spot every time. My secondary position is 3rd base, I have a good arm that helps me get the ball to first fast enough and good hand-eye coordination. I am also a utility player and ready to play anywhere coaches need me to perform.
