Personal Statement

One of my biggest goals has always been to play college softball. I was young when I first started playing and as I progressed through the sport, I fell in love with the game. It is not just the game that has made me adore the sport though, being able to connect and play with the different teammates I’ve had has definitely helped me love it. I’ve played with many different people and have had to adapt to their different playing styles and attitudes, which has helped me grow as a player and a person. During games I tend to take the position of a leader, whether it be cheering on others, helping shift the mood, or just taking one for the team. I care about my teammates and when they do well it pushes me to also do my best.

My focus is not only on athletics but academics as well. I strive to be a competent, well rounded student. I take pride in my academic achievements and wish to pursue a career in Forensic Psychology, as I am interested in both Psychology and Criminal Justice. Recognizing that these subjects will require focus and determination, I have learned to find balance between athletics and academics.

In my freshman year I made varsity on my high school softball team. Our team got all of four games before the season was shut down because of Covid-19. Not being able to play that year really made me realize how important softball was for me. Though we only got a short season this year, I made it my mission to excel in the sport, as I didn’t get my chance as a freshman.

As I head into my junior year I am looking forward to taking more specialized classes, most of which are AP classes, and improving my softball skills. One area that I hope to expand this year is my community service, looking for more opportunities to volunteer in my area.

I appreciate you taking the time to look more into my profile and I hope you find in me a player you would like to coach.
