Personal Statement

I started playing softball when I was seven years old and I had a coach who taught me how to love the game from an early age. My love and excitement for the game has become more each year and throughout my many team experiences, I have grown to love my team as family. I enjoy being part of the team because I've made some of the closest friends I will ever have and I know that my team is a group of girls I can count on both on and off the field. Over the years, coaches have put me in different positions to play and I strive to learn each position. When I was ten, I decided to start pitching lessons. Since then I have pitched, played infield and outfield positions. Learning these positions has helped me to improve my own game and to work with others in their positions to improve.

The best compliment I have ever received in my years of playing softball is that when I am on the mound I stay calm and I am a leader. My coach told me that because of my calmness and leadership, my team follows and we play great softball together.

My personal academic goal is to attain a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing and Journalism so that one day I can become an author or reporter. I would like to play softball during my college years because I still have a love and passion for the game that I am not ready to give up yet. I continue to strive to be a good student, a good person, a good leader, and a good teammate both on and off the field.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
