Kahlen Cornell '23 Recruiting Profile

As a softball pitcher I enjoy working year round to sharpen my skills and challenge myself to seek continuous improvement as my way of contributing to my team. Pitching provides me with opportunities to be a factor in every defensive play and has taught me mental toughness and perseverance under pressure. My favorite aspect of pitching is that every new batter and situation presents me with new challenges which I have come to see as numerous games within the larger game. There is no greater thrill for me than to be in the circle when the stakes are high. While I am happy to start a game I am also just as willing to be brought in to relieve a teammate. I have been a member of great teams and struggling teams but am always able to leave any game with pride in knowing that I left everything I had to give on the field. I would love the opportunity to continue to contribute and grow as a collegiate student athlete. I am a leader who brings positive energy and a strong work ethic. I plan to pursue a degree in physical therapy or kinesiology and would love to have a career that allows me to assist others in recovering from injuries.
