Personal Statement

Hi everyone, I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Alina Ferguson I am a Junior at Newburgh Free Acadamy. When it comes to sports it has always been my get away, I have strong work ethic and I am a leader when it comes to sports and school. During the school season my high school team practices everyday in the gym or on the field. During the fall I play on my high school's volleyball team, I have been a varsity sport starter for both softball and volleyball since my freshman year of high school. I love to stay fit and really treat my body well, I workout and especially love running. I am really looking for a school that fits me academically as well as athletically. I am looking to study Criminal Justice and minor in Psychology. I take Forensic Science right now in high school and I really enjoy it and its one of my favorite classes. Junior Day is designed for high school softball players that want to work directly with college coaches in an on-field environment. The event is for those players who are focused on becoming college softball student-athletes or want to learn more about that process. This will include measurements and feedback on the latest metrics in softball such as batted ball exit velocity, throwing velocity, running times and others. The college coaches on site will not only provide these metrics verbally but will also instruct the campers on how to improve them. In addition, there will be a segment of camp that will include a discussion for both players and parents on Recruiting and the College Experience.
