Taylor Matlock '18 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing softball since I was 7 years old, and was on a team with 9 and 10 year olds. I have always played up a level since then; for school I played on JV in 7th and 8th grade and for my Freshman year I was brought up to varsity. I have always been a leader by example, but I am working on being a more vocal leader. In June of 2014, I broke my nose. I had to sit out most of my travel tournaments. I remember how hard it was to watch everybody on my team play the game. Now I know how my dad feels when he's coaching or watching me at camps, Haha. Being the youngest on the team and going through my injury, I realized how hard I have to work to get to the collegiate level. I feel that these experiences will allow me to be the best student-athlete I can be at the collegiate level.
