When I was younger I felt like I was missing a part of myself. With my friends and with my family I felt like I was missing something and I couldn't find what it was. It wasn't until my best friend introduced me to softball, that I felt complete again. Softball was like the last puzzle piece to finish the puzzle. I fell in love with the sport. Even when my friend moved away I still played because I felt at ease when I was on the field.
Through this sport, I've grown into the person I am today. I've adapted to learning from my failures instead of soaking in them. I have learned from my team to be more open-minded towards those around me. And I have been taught to give my all for not only myself but for the benefit of others. Although the pressure of others counting on you can be daunting it comes with a newfound trust between yourself and your team. Through college, I hope to find another team that I can call home and a school that I can learn and grow from.
