Carley Joyner '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Carley Joyner, I am 17 years old and a junior at Forbush High School in East Bend, NC, class of 2023. I fell in love with softball when I was 8 years old, I play school ball as well as travel. I started pitching with a pitching coach at age 10 and I still train weekly with him.   I have been with the "Lady Slammers 18 U Cooper" for the last 3 years as well as my HS team. I also guest play with a showcase team, "NC Challengers" when I'm not busy with the "Lady Slammers". I work hard at softball and school as well. I've held above a 3.6 GPA my first 2 years in HS. I work with a personal trainer twice a week, who has special equipment for pitchers. I pitch 4-5 days a week year round to continue to improve in speed, accuracy and spins for ball movement . I have been given 2 pitching awards, one in middle school and in 10th grade.  Our last school game this year I had 16 strike outs. I've been hit in the chest with a line drive that I was still able to throw out at first.  I am very competitive but also a team player. My goal is to play softball in college, and continue to grow and develop as a pitcher, player and student.
