Sports has been a part of my family for many generations. I would love to stay in the sports arena. My goal is to strive for a degree in Athletic Training which would allow me to still be in the sports discipline and continue to work with athletes.
I would be good for the team because I am a very outgoing and very coachable athlete. I believe in working hard for something I want. Being competitive is one of my strongest assets. I have a very open funny personality and I consider myself to be a pretty cool person and I like to spend time with my teammates. I have very strong moral standards and believe in standing up for what I believe in even if I have to stand alone. Some subjects I struggle with, like math, but I am the kind to ask for help when I need it. I love playing softball. I have been traveling in this sport since I was 5 years old. I learned about the game of softball while being the bat girl for my older sister's travel team. By the age of 9, I was playing on my own travel team, Lady Thunder.
My freshman year, I broke my collar bone in a car accident and sitting on the side lines made me learn a whole lot more about softball behind the scenes. I had forgotten how much you could learn by observing. It was through this trial that I was determined to work hard in my rehab efforts. Sophomore year, I was a flex player and played enough with varsity to letter that year. I worked even harder afterwards and obtained a starting position on third base my junior year. Softball is not who I am but what I have a love and passion for. It has been a big part of my learning experience growing up. The softball field has been my classroom for the past 12 years. I have learned what hard work, discipline, teamwork, commitment and trust are all about. While many think it's just a sport...it has been my teacher. In return, I love to help teach others the game.
