Avery Couto '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Avery Couto and I am a Junior at Tiverton High School , Tiverton RI.  From the first time I’ve stepped on the field I never wanted to get off, I’m on the field more than I am anywhere else. I work hard year round to build on my skills as an outfielder and knowing my role as an athlete for my team.  I play for 18U Select Team and swing on the 18U Showcase for Bombers Elite out of Warwick RI.

The passion I have for this sport increases every single time I step on a field. There is nothing I love more to do than excel each and every day. In my eyes It’s not all about me, I love seeing my teammates work hard, get dirty and make plays. I enjoy the game so much more being there for the other athletes around me and knowing that they are there for me.

As a student-athlete, I am determined to perform to the best of my abilities in both the classroom and in the field.  As a student I have maintained a 3.77 GPA with honor level and AP classes.  I am considering a pathway into Physical Therapy or Business .  As an athlete I also know what ever I decide to major in softball still has to be a huge part of my schedule. For the next year of my High School experience my goal is to find a college that suits me academically and athletically.
