My name is Myah Nordquist I live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. I attended the Tigers Softball Academy at Tommy Douglas Collegiate during the first semester in 2016 and 2017 then I returned to my home school, Holy Cross Highschool for the second semester. This year I chose to finish my senior year at Holy Cross. I have played many sports in my life including soccer, gymnastics, dance, ringette, curling, hockey and volleyball but softball has been my favourite by far. During the off season I attend clinics, and have private pitching and hitting lessons with my coach. This helps me maintain and improve my skills. I'll be starting my 11th season of competitive softball this year and I am looking forward to a fun and successful season with my team. This year I have decided to focus on softball and my academics. This gives me more time to prepare myself for the softball season.
By attending the Tigers Sofball Academy at Tommy Douglas it allowed me to extend my softball season and gave me the opportunity to attend camps at top colleges in the United States. In Dec. 2016 we attended the Florida State University and Dec. 2017 we went to California State University in Fullerton. We trained under their coaches and players as well as the head coach from South Dakota University. We also have a summer camp that brings college coaches to Saskatoon to train us and see the potential we have. We have a short softball season in Saskatchewan, it is very important to me to find any opportunity to continue my training. The Softball Academy was the perfect fit for me. Along with softball, academics is very important to me. I currently have a 85% average, I study hard as I know that maintaining good marks opens up more doors for me.
For years I have dreamt of playing on a College Softball Team, I will continue to work hard to make this dream a reality. I look forward to finding the best college that will academically give me the opportunity to succeed in my chosen career path and the ability to continue playing the sport I love.
